Tropical Storm Warning Issued

The Bermuda Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning, as well as a Small Craft Warning, and Thunderstorm Advisory. The warning has been issued due to Tropical Storm Jose – the tenth named storm of the 2011 Atlantic Season. Jose’s closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be 51 nm to the west at 3pm today [Aug.28]. Due to the inclement weather the Olde Town Market in St George’s was cancelled today.

Hurricane Irene, which is not expected to impact Bermuda, continues to cause flight cancellations, with numerous flights between Bermuda at the U.S. east coast cancelled over the weekend.
