Photos: Heavy Rainfall Across Bermuda

June 15, 2012

2.49″ of rain fell across Bermuda this morning [June 15], causing traffic delays across the island. Morning commuters faced traffic delays as the rain created flooding in many locations including Dundonald Street, Woodlawn Rd, Bakery Lane, Bernards Parks and more.

Two men decided to take an old car out for a “swim” on Bakery Lane in Pembroke, an area which also saw locals whip out a small boat and paddle their way through.

A Thunderstorm Advisory is an effect from this afternoon through to Saturday morning. Bermuda Weather Service meteorologist Michelle T. Pitcher said, “Since about 4 am when this area of continuous rain has started until about 12 noon, we have received 2.49″ of precipitation. Looks like all the money that was spent on the drainage work near B. A. A. has made the flooding even worse. Thanks for wasting my tax paying dollars……

    • BermyTaco says:

Yes, because floods like this happen daily, right?

    @ BermyGuy.
Maybe you should drill a hole in the center of all the low areas to the center of the earth. that way the water would have somewhere to go.
