This is achieved through annually awarding scholarships to outstanding students pursuing studies relevant to the insurance industry.”

She went on to say that, after short-listing half of the 101 applications the Committee went on to interview 30 students who were of outstanding quality, as, not only are they all extremely sound academically, but all are also well rounded, excelling in their individual pastimes of sports, music and philanthropic endeavours.

The 2012 BFIS scholars were presented with their awards by BFIS founding member and Advisory Trustee, Brian O’Hara and BFIS scholarship sponsors, Kip Herring for Alterra, Dr. Grant Gibbons for Colonial Group, Jill Husbands for Marsh and Jerome Dill for Validus.
