The St. George’s Dinghy and Sports Club hosted dinghy racing yesterday [July 15] in the St. George’s Harbour. Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club’s Elizabeth II skipper John Nicholls sailed to two victories and Contest III skippered by Somers Kempe won the other race of the day.
Nicholls sailed Elizabeth II to victory in the E.R. Williams Cup and the Middleton Shield, while Kempe and his Contest III crew won the Trott Cup.
In both the E.R. Williams Cup and the Middleton Shield, Kemp and Contest III followed Nicholls and Elizabeth II. Victory IV skippered by Mark Soares finished third and Martin Siese sailing Challenger II finished fourth.
Cooper and Contest III crossed the line first in the Trott Cup and were followed by Siese and Challenger II. Soares skippered Victory IV to a third place finish and Williams and his crew in Elizabeth II sank.
