Power Outage Delays Squash Tournament

August 12, 2012

The Bermuda Squash Racquets Association’s Red Hot Summer Classic was cut short today [Aug 12] when they were forced to abandon the event due to the power outage. A spokesperson for the Squash Association said the second power outage of nearly two hours forced them to abandon the matches.

Those that are available will complete the event tomorrow night. Micah Franklin was 2 games to 0 up against Nick Kyme when they stopped and is flying out tomorrow so has had to withdraw.

Nick Kyme will now play Noah Browne in the final tomorrow night at 8.40pm. Browne continues his good form after winning the Caribbean Championships earlier this summer by beating National Champion Patrick Foster 11-13, 11-9, 11-7, 11-1.

Matches for Monday 13th August are:
7.20pm Beau Orchard v Andrew Stout
7.20pm Susanna Armano v Jayne Craig
7.40pm Michelle Hodder v Alyssa Brewer
7.40pm Denise Kyme v Kim Morbey
