    ‘Middle Road Southampton’

Is it impossible for the BPS to be more specific when these things happen ?
Not that it changes much , but Southampton is the longest parish and a lot of residents would really appreciate knowing just how close it was to ‘home’ .

    • Paradise Lost says:

Its all close to home, my friend, its all too close….

    • Terry says:

      And what would they do.
      It has happened.
      Have you taken any steps.?
      Just gotta type right?
      See yah.

    • mixitup says:

You sound really retarded! I was thinking the same not because I wanted to know how close to home it was, but because I was traveling through Southampton at that time last night and was hoping something could jog my memory SO I CAN HELP!!! What the flip will knowing how close it was to your home accomplish?? I’m curious?

      • As usual says:

Your comprehension isn’t quite as bad as most of the others who post on here it seems ..almost, but not quite .

Duuh , if it was in one’s immediate area they just might have seen or heard something you know ? Simple eh ?

I DID originally say ‘not that it makes much difference’ , remember ? ?

Still, despite the fact that the entire island is rapidly becoming a ghetto hood, it would be usefull to know exactly where these crimes are taking place.
Like when we hear that there was an assault/homebreaking etc in ‘Paget’ for example.
Could have been next door and someone could have seen something. Or want to put even more padlocks on their doors and windows.

I blame all the (mostly white) bloggers who post all those anti PLP sentiments. If they stopped and nobody cricitized PLP, then none of this would happen.

    • Family Man says:

It’s the work of the OBA’s Secret Troops again. Wayne’s gonna be livid.

    • S says:

so no one would steal bikes or commit crimes if the mostly white bloggers stopped critizing the PLP said the ‘Cedar Beams’ man, didnt some Cedar beams go missing from a the post office or something a while back……..

    • Mad Dawg says:

And we’d automatically get more tourists too.

    • The People's Champion says:

This is a joke… right? Please tell me this is a joke…

    • Family of a shot victim RIP cuz says:

@ Cedar Beams, Family Man and Mad Dawg I can see that you men or women are a bunch of a$$ hol#s. Maybe one day you 3 will grow up when someone caps off a gun in you’re direction. Then you’ll feel my pain.
Guns in Bermuda PLP or OBA are no joke!

      • Cedar Beams (Original) says:

Very sorry for your loss. But calling me an ass*** was not only uncalled for, but also untrue. The PLP has fostered our environment in every way with their incompetence and race baiting. If you have anger and wish to call somebody names – look at them not me. Have a nice day and again, I am sorry for your loss.

  5. Jamudian says:

peole keep an eye out. I think that did this to use the bike to help committ a different crime. The get away vehicle. watch out.
    Police should be on this

    • street wise says:

Let’s hope that you are wrong.

    • Smart, Young and Indelibly Brown-skinned says:

Those Sportcitys are known to be one of the fastest bikes on the Island…he must have been a law-abiding citizen at 2:00am because if he was going faster he probably would have outran the guys unless they had something souped up…(@Liars!) A visor ban would have 0 effect on the behaviour of criminals intent on causing mayhem at 2am. If they are willing to commit a gunpoint robbery do you really think they give a damn if they just break another law? Puhleese….its interesting people ask “Where are the Police” …they can’t be everywhere, they aren’t Superman, and the criminals know this, too….
I think the only feasible way to counter people committing crimes on bikes is by placing some sort of extremely durable and hard to remove electronic tracking device on every single bike and placing waypoints all around the island, make it mandatory that the devices are installed…like Datatag..with such a device the authorities would have a computer accessed log of times when a vehicle passed a waypoint..if the Sportcity and the other bike passed the waypoint at the same time, assuming they didn’t split up it would be a means to surmise as to who the owner of the second bike was, and if they pass through multiple waypoints at certain times, narrow a search or end location(if the passage ends at a certain waypoint, w/o the bikes passing the one after it) to a specific area..but who wants to foot the bill for this idea, if applicable? Perhaps some of you would deem it to be an invasion of your privacy, too “Big Brother-ish”…

      • (0.0) says:

I agree. Feel sorry for whomever this person was! But notice to anyone else who owns one of these bikes. just get rid of them. put an ad on emoo and sell it. because most likely it will be stolen from you!

and @ smart… you had a good idea about datatag-ing all bikes like they do cars. a bike can go through any point on the island really without being monitored. other than the cctv cameras. a car now cannot.

  6. Liars! says:

where are these cops anyways? Why have these politicians not banned black visors?

Dont let one of these fools stop the wrong person like me and end up with alot more than what they bargained for boy…..point a gun at me and expect to use it because my adrenaline would probably take over and you boys better know how to handle me because it will end up being you with the bullet wounds not me if your not polite!

  7. g-gurl says:

  11. Lmao!!!! says:

Wow how dumb could u be? Let’s be smart, all this so called gun crime in Bermuda right now. And ya gonna cruse around @2am on a SportsCity in MOB land ( by the way they should ban those bikes). All I’m just saying is you got to be aware of your surrounding.

    • Mad Dawg says:

That’s what Bermuda has become. A place where the only people allowed out at night are thugs with guns. If anyone else gets robbed or shot at, you’re called “dumb” for being in a dangerous place.

    • Family Man says:

Can you do up a little map for us to hand out to the tourists at the airport and the docks. You know, mark out all those tribal lands where they’re not supposed to go. Especially after dark. They’re so naive they still think of these places as Somerset, Southampton, Pembroke, Devonshire etc.

    • blazer says:

MOB land ????? You’re not part of the solution,STOP giving those country guys property rights. MOB LAND what eva.. Back in the day it was called those guys up
the country or down the country. Not named property rights etc. MOB LAND. While we’re on time. Govt. DROP that dumb 1am curfew for teens to be off the road. way too late

  12. susie says:

I once stopped a politrickster in town one day and said, “how can you tell us what darkness of tint we can put on our car windows, but, anyone can wear a darrrrk visor? crime rate has been up ever since they’ve been in use.WHO’S MAKING MONEY ON THE DARK VISORS ?????
How can you tell us to buy a car seat or else we’d be fined, but, yet we can take that same small child and ride with them on the front of a bike?,HUH??SMH
    PEACE & LOVE

  13. The Ridiculist says:

We need to get more police on the roads patrolling parishes with a ratio of the roads covered by them from Somerset to St George’s. This expedites response time and keeps the police alert and aware of any suspicious activity. I’m just saying that’s what a woman would do.

  14. SMT says:

I’ve owned 2 Sportscities and although they are great bikes, the hassle of riding 1 is too high. 1 was stolen and I sold the other 1 after it was tampered with. The solution of “banning the bike” itself is ridiculous, it’s not the bike’s fault or the owner of the bike that they were attacked. Unfortunately yes they are associated with MOB, however, they can be found all over the island. It’s really messed up how wicked people are nowadays and think they have the right to just take from other people.

  15. Kim Smith says:

    Minister Furbert?

  16. BermudaOnion says:

Just be in before dark.Lock up tight. Apparently the thugs have “won”.
