Students Join Rego Sotheby’s: Summer Internship

September 5, 2012

Three students were selected to join the Rego Sotheby’s International Realty team for the company’s summer internship program, and Dominique Rawlins, Sarah Daniels and Dominick Wright started with little prior knowledge of the Real Estate world and walked away with a greater appreciation of the business.

Ms. Rawlins is an honor student enrolled at the Bermuda High School for Girls in the International Baccalaureate program and recipient of the Young Citizens Award and the Effort Award.

Ms. Daniels is also an honor student recently graduated from Saltus Grammar School on her way to the University of Waterloo this Fall and recipient of the Ernst & Young Award, Bronze for the Duke of Edinburgh and nominated for the Bermuda Outstanding Teen Award.

Mr. Wright is an honor student currently attending Hotchkiss Academy in the United States and is the recent recipient of the BFA Leroy Lewis Scholarship. These individuals brought a youthful injection of curiosity and steadfastness from which any business would greatly benefit.

During the two month program, the trio assisted in every aspect of the company with residential sales, rentals, property valuations, commercial sales and leasing, marketing and consultancy. From inspecting sites to photography, writing property descriptions and market research and analytical reporting, there was a consistent rotating platform for learning behind the scenes that the interns found to be the most beneficial.

Mr. Wright stated, “This experience will be invaluable as I move forward with my education. Over the course of my time as an intern, I was able to learn a lot while helping out in many of the different parts of the company.”

Ms. Rawlins said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at and am grateful for the opportunity afforded me. I have learnt invaluable skills, which I will carry with me as I continue forward in life. Skills learnt not only about Real Estate but the workplace in general.”

Ms. Daniels commented, “Working at Rego Sotheby’s International Realty this summer gave me my first insight to what an office job is like and what it entails. I have gained further insight to the Real Estate market and learned how much goes into the sale or valuation of a property. I learned that maintaining contacts with people will be very helpful. I would like to thank Penny MacIntyre and Buddy Rego for giving such a wonderful opportunity.”

Buddy Rego, the President of Rego Sotheby’s International Realty, said, “We continuously strive to have a positive impact on the community and the young members of our society. We congratulate and thank Miss Rawlins, Miss Daniels and Mr. Wright for their invaluable contributions as we look forward to continuing a strong relationship with these scholars going forward.”
