Woody’s Incident: Four Men Released On Bail
The four Pembroke men arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm in relation to the recent firearm incident at Woody’s in Sandys have been released on police bail.
A police spokesperson said: “All four persons arrested in connection with the Saturday, August 25th incident at Woody’s have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
“No weapon has been recovered, and there has been limited assistance from the public so far. However, investigations are ongoing as we continue to build the evidence and process the forensic evidence gleaned.
“The Bermuda Police Service continues to appeal for anyone with any information regarding this matter to contact the independent & confidential Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477 or the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739.”
The incident occurred on Saturday [Aug 25], and saw the suspect[s] travel from Spanish Point on a jet ski to Boaz Island where the suspect [s] appeared to be attempting to discharge the weapon, however no shots were fired.
The suspect [s] then traveled back to Spanish Point on the jet ski. The police have seized a jet ski believed to have been used in this incident and also released the CCTV photo above showing the suspect at Woody’s.
In reference to the firearm itself the police said: “It is concerning because if the images and the suggestion is true that the suspect in this matter was in possession of a weapon capable of automatic fire on a crowd of innocent people, then this incident could have resulted in multiple casualties.”
The CCTV footage is being sent overseas for digital enhancement and analysis to see if it is possible determine the identity of the suspect and the weapon type.
The police said there has been “limited assistance from the public so far” and appealed for anyone with any information regarding this matter to contact the independent & confidential Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477 or the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739.

Are you for real, there is a whole world out there and you pic some of the most recent dangerous citys and in the USA. First, there is alot of US out there to pic from, sec. i didnt say the USA, there is a big wonderful world out there. I was just saying like the whole Bermuda knows its to small for this type of acts to be happening here.

Mule might explain it, the fact is, in Bermuda the crime is in our face. We can go anywhere and live without worrying about getting shot. Common sense will say avoid those areas but here you cannot.

Because LAST YEAR they changed the LAW to be able to hold anybody suspected of gun related incidents for much longer while they supposedly gather evidence!!!!

Its the same young men doing these things and the police know this. If they can’t police them then what chance do we stand. They know who these guys are and what they are capable of. I feel they need a new law in how they handle them and the matters.
