Housefire On Sound View Road, No Injuries
Early Tuesday morning [Oct 9] a fire broke out at a property on Sound View Road in Sandys, and it took firefighters 30 minutes to get it under control.
A spokesperson said: “In the early hours, 1:00am, of October 9th, 2012 Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service received a call via 911 reporting a structural fire at 79 Sound View Road, Sandy’s.
“The Service responded with 2 fire appliances, 2 support vehicles and 10 personnel. The first arriving appliance arrived on scene at approximately 1:06am and discovered a room of family dwelling well involved with smoke and flames. 2 firefighters in breathing apparatus quickly brought the fire under control and by 1:36am the fire was completely extinguished.
“Thankfully, the residents were able to exit the house without injury. The cause of the fire is currently being thoroughly investigated.”
