Photos/Video: Bermuda Women Defeat Hitra 6-1
The football portion of the 2013 NatWest Island Games continued on Monday [July 15], with the Bermuda women’s team claiming a 6-1 victory over Hitra.
Tschana Wade scored a penalty in the 18th minute, Aaliyah Nolan scored a goal in the 28th, Cheyra Bell in the 39th, Jessica Furtado in the 55th, Tschana Wade scored again in the 68th and Rayni Maybury scored Bermuda’s sixth goal in the 74th minute. Julie Kristoffersen was the lone scorer for Hitra in the 82nd minute of play.
Hitra, an island off Norway, is over 10x bigger than Bermuda by land mass, but has only has a population of around 4,300 people. They are one of four football teams in the Games, joining the Falklands Islands and Froya in making their way to Bermuda.
