  1. Bush says:

    So tired of this.

    • OBA = liers says:

On the OBA crime platform they promised!

      1. Disrupt and dismantle violent gang activity by fully funding and implementing focused crime reduction strategies such as Operation Ceasefire.

How is that working for you OBA? Is it working NO. Get ya a$$ES out there and kick open the doors of all these punks that need a gun to kill someone. The island is going to hell and the natives are getting restless. You made promise which you know very well you couldn’t keep just to win the election. If you don’t do something at this rate the PLP will be the next Government. They sat back and did nothing and now you doing the same thing.

      • Raymond Ray says:

The O.B.A. aren’t liars the problem is them who know something yet fail to assist Govt. How much can the O.B.A or P.L.P. do by kicking in doors? Granted, it will cause them that have these weapons to lay low for a time but do any of you really think the weapons will be found if the culprits know the possibility of police kicking in their door?
People must talk, drop a dime whatever it takes to put a dent in this ignorance that is ruining Bermuda! This is in a small area and I believe Mr. Rolf Commissiong and Min. Michael Weeks who are the representatives from the areas should know them in their constituency. Though P.L.P are the Opposition it need be part of the solution, instead of politicing down the field. Get out and about seeking who, what’s and where as well as what it is that is needed and must be done to eliminate this madness in their neighbours. The police aren’t capable of doing it all…

      • As The Minister Would say “Most Politicians Just Stick Their Index Finger Into The Wind And Follow That Direction”

      • Family Man says:

Remind me again who those constituents actually voted for; the convicted bank robber or the decorated police officer?

        • mixitup says:

Or was it the Drug Dealer?

        • I was Blind for plp & oba says:

Didn’t the POLICE officer now shadow Minister promise to get control of this if voted in as the next Gov? Oba all you did was crap on my vote and whip ya self with it.

      • Grand Wizzard says:

You sir are a prime example of how people who don’t know trying to act like they do

      • Y-Gurl says:

I think its the BPS that are supposed to be kicking the doors down the OBA have given the BPS the latitude and the tools (and lets not forget the budget) to do the job but as we have seen for the past 7 years or so there is an inability or unwillingness to do their job and the pubic, gangs and killers all hold the police in an unfavourable light which removes the deterent and allows these guys to operate with little or no fear of being caught

        • enough says:

Tragically, the facts undermine your point.
Police can do better, that’s not in doubt, but a public survey was just completed and showed the public approval rating is overwhelmingly positive. The clearance rate for murder is amongst the highest in the western world.
But don’t let these FACTS get in the way of your hatred of all things police.
          Carry on.

          • Y-Gurl says:

Not sure where your “facts” come from how may Bermudians were shot, killed or how many armed robberies were there between 1990 to 2000? Now how many of the terrible crimes committed 2000 to 2013? These are the FACTS and the clearance rate? WTF how about having a good prevention rate!

            • enough says:

My ‘facts’ come from the news, you might want to try reading it.
Prevention, of course, would be the panacea….impossible to do though and I don’t care what you say about the police. It simply isn’t achievable under any but the most ridiculous of circumstances.
But, as I say, you’re only interested in having a pop about the police and never have you made any constructive suggestions that I’ve seen.
Sad, lonely and bitter individual. Hope that’s working for you.

      • Fed Up says:

Instead of always blaming the Government for everyting that goes wron on this Island just maybe if those who know who theses people are would take a stand and turn them in , it would be a step in the right direction. How on earth is the OBA supposed to stop the violence if we the people don’t do what we are supposed to do and turn theses wnna be gangsters in. I personnally would liuke to put them all on an island and leave them to it.

      • Wisdom says:

What is your point – we all are still trying to survive from the past. You could be a participant yourself to better Bermuda, but what do you choose to do?

  2. Bush says:

The father of lies has blinded the eyes of many and has now bred many who are dead spiritually and so to die means very little. Death physically is only seen as a natural part of the spiritual death.sad but true

  4. Observ ant says:

Oh, for God’s sake….when will you idiots STOP?????

    • tired says:

They Wont stop unless People start talking and do what is right!!!

      • Black Soil says:

“tired” is correct. Our brothers and killing each other and many in the neighbourhoods are staying QUIETE. With helping the crime fighters nothing will be done.

    • Triangle Drifter says:

When the families & girlfriends who benefit from these guys drug trade have had enough of the violence & start not only talking but appearing in the witness stand.

Until then it will carry on.

  5. Tired says:

So tired of this island, we are way too small for this crap, they know these fools are just go get them. So time to leave this place.

This abd the cost of living here is just so not worth it.

  6. Karma says:

OK…round up all the “gang” members, stick them on an island in the Sound and let them shoot it out…in BROAD DAYLIGHT. For those of us who are law-abiding citizens, we’re tired of this crap. And angry that our island paradise is being f***ed up by this bunch of morons.

BTW…I’m not interested in hearing ‘not MY boy, he’s a good Christian’ or ‘hold ya head up, bra’…

    • Tired says:

i feel the same way Karma. Just getting so damn old.

      • Pure Madness!!! says:

        @tired

Yes, I agree with you 100%. Until people start speaking up about what they see and know, then yes this will continue. Or until some innocent child get shot and killed that’s truly when people will get sick and tired.
People say that they have had enough but have they really, are they willing to take a stand on what’s morally right. People don’t see a damn thing until it happens on their doorstep, than they want to put on an Oscar performance. Oh and you best believe I will and have reported undue BS that I have seen and will do so AGAIN!!!!
I do not know the individual or his family but send out condolences and pray that the Lord OUR God will comfort you at this most difficult time.
For all of you with negative comments keep them, as your negativity will only breed more negative comments.
Get tired Bermuda, um sorry get sick and tired Bermuda, its time to take a stand…. IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!!!!

  7. thetruth says:

not to be rude but if u look at the world news more often you would see its really no where to go its actually safer in bda then anywer in the world (wish death on nobody)

    • Arthur Raynor says:

Sorry to thetruth..but if you believe that statement you made, then I have a bridge in Flatts for sale.
What ‘facts’ do you base your statement on?
Yes there are murders in most parts of the world but there are a lot of places/countries in the world that are a lot safer then my island home Bermuda when you take into account the crime & murder rates. From Switzerland, countries in Africa, middle east, Polynesia and more.
This wikipedia website below, gives the worlds murder rates for the year and they list Bermuda as having 8, British Virgin Islands 2, Anguilla 1, Cayman Islands 5, Montserrat 1, Turks and Caicos Islands 3, Iceland 1, Liechtenstein 1 and the list goes on and on.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate
Please try and do your homework first before you make untrue statements.

      • whatever says:

Actually the murder rate for Bermuda on that site is 12.3 (per 100k population) rather than 8 (the number of people killed for that year). But otherwise, Arthur, I fully agree with you.

The murder rate for the entire world is only 6.9 (per 100k), so I would say there are many, many places that are a lot safer than Bermuda. Examples: The only US states/territories that have a higher murder rate than Bermuda are DC and Puerto Rico. Even the majority of Mexican states have a lower murder rate than Bda.

I don’t think there are any politicians out there that can fix this. We need to fix this as a community.

      • Makes No Sense says:

If you are looking for TRUTHFUL FACTS wikipedia is not the site to use in a debate.

thetruth – you are absolutely wrong.

  8. Ganja mon says:

Feel kind of sorry for guys from that area. Lost so many people, some were cool and not into violence, just making money. They should have never took them ** youts under their wing. Ended up biting them in the azz.

thats the truth, The guys they looked out for and helped come up, their the ones killing them off

  10. Micro says:

Wonder if those cameras up there caught anything… probably not even functional…

    • Errin Butterfield says:

You hit the nail on the head, this coming from a very reliable source, at best a single angle from the cameras is functioning.

  11. Killuminati says:

And as always someone from government will say how sadden they are about the violence… Then proceed to fade into the background again.

Nobody cares to fix this sh&$!!

  12. character flaw says:

@thetruth There are alot safer places to be other than Bermuda. Due to our square milage and polulation, we have terrible statistics for acts of violence. Bermuda is no longer a safe haven. Time to take the rose colored glasses off.

  13. wow says:

seriously Bermuda really needs to start a death row, or if you take someones life they take yours, and if you commit a crime the same action gets done too you. you steal 10,000 dollars from someone else they take 10,000 from you.! justice needs to be served

  14. cousin says:

There is only a select few who are doing this dumb stuff less than 50 people. Although things have changed drasticly on our island, I wouldn’t be so ready to write the island off yet. It is a horrible phase, seasons come and go they can’t keep this up it will pass although lots of families are being hurt in the process. The culprits are effectively killing each other off. We need to reach the young ones in primary school to squash their interest in joining. Education is the key. Two babies in two different cases were killed in gang cross fire over the last week in the US and even for such a large country that is a lot.

  15. SammyDavis says:

    @Killuminati

A change can only come from the community and not from our political leaders. If we want to see anything change we have to address it ourselves. Protesting the government for solutions to a community problem only pushes the responsibility on an already over burdened government.. We all know that the problems that exist are symptoms of failing to properly educate and motivate our youth to become productive members of the community. The Focus needs to be on healthy homes. Healthy homes will create a healthy community

    • Facts says:

A change will only come from God John 5:19 says the whole world is lying in the hands of the wicked one.
It’s beyond all human control, not the politicians not society no human.
People keep putting there hopes in fleshly imperfect men, just like you cant change a human being you can not change the world. God however is capable and will step in and undo the effects of Satan the devil the ruler of this system. Put your trust in the bible not nobles.

      • atheist says:

Gods and religon are not the solution, it is the people who know the thugs that are involved coupled with effective policing and a judicial system. Hoping that some vague entity from outer space will magically come down and solve OUR problem is not a viable approach.

    • CV Customer says:

Finally, someone with sense! I agree 100% with your statement.

  16. cliff says:

i thought OBA will stop the killins, thats what they said

    • Raymond Ray says:

Cliff, get your head from out of, (well you know where I’m going)
It wasn’t and it isn’t the O.B.A. nor the P.L.P. that are doing this shootings/killings it’s your family or possibly mine but they will not cease until given up to the police and face the Laws.

      • Hey says:

Ray you must still have your head up the oba’s, (I don’t have to tell you where I’m going you’re already there)
The oba made promises before the election. Don’t come on here trying to down play it. They said they had solutions to this Devil Island we live in. I never believe them, but many people that voted for change did.

    • Whispers Run Rapid in Bermuda says:

Well I am sure you really didn’t think they could put a stop to it no government can it is up to the individuals doing all the shooting.. Get so tired of people bring up OBA or PLP give it a rest.

To this man’s family and friends Blessings to you.

This island needs some serious help/prayer and unity!!!!!

My prayers go out to the family ,I came up on the streets of Middletown all of my life. I was a gang member for 30 years my name is Ronald butterfield if God can save me, God can save anybody. I’m been saved for six years I pray that the young people of Bermuda find a relationship with Jesus christ ,my hold church is full of gang members from all over the world, I stay in Atlanta GA my church is victory outreach. if God can do it for me ,he can do it for u ,we serve a great God, God bless u all.

OBA can’t stop killings, they can only slow the rising tide. Once you understand the background, living conditions, role models, upbringing these boys come from….its never gonna end

  22. Bermuda Male says:

    Condolences to all affected.

It is a shame the minority of idiots is creating an atmosphere of fear for the majority.

    RIP

  23. Faith Too says:

In case someone actually looks up that scripture. It’s 1 John 5:19. Also take a look at Psalm 37:9-11. This speaks of the destruction of those wicked ones and the hope for mankind in the future. Man nor man’s Government’s can solve the issues we are experiencing. Jeremiah 10:23 tells us that it is not for man to direct his steps. Bible prophecy is being fulfilled. 2 Tim 3:1-5 speaks of this as critical times hard to deal with. People read manuals for cars, bikes, appliances etc., but the one manual they should read is the one put forth by our creator. People are looking for peace through man and it’s not going to happen. Our creator had given us the tools we need through his word the Bible. Isaiah 55:11 says his word won’t return to him without results. So we can have faith that what God says will happen is true.

    • atheist says:

Relying on random quotes from an out of date 2000 year-old book written by a committee of long dead priests and prophets with a dodgy political agenda and frankly horrific morals, which was then subsequently translated into something different by others is not going to solve anything.

It is the REAL people HERE and NOW that will make the difference and stop this senseless bloodshed.

  24. When the PTB (Powers That Be) stop singing kumbaya & do a mau mau on bda’s internal genocide problem that’s when it will end. The gun violence & gang problem in Bermuda can be cleaned up if the police & government do the same thing that was done in Los Angeles & conduct an immediate “operation hammer” type assignment. Until then, this madness will continue

    • Y-Gurl says:

Good idea but unfortunately we have a weak BPS with weak leadership that seems to be completely unable to stop this madness, the Goverment should have brought in a proper gang squad when this carnage started 7 or so years ago, these people would not be friends with or related to anyone here and would not be hiding under their desks hpoing the killings would just go away. But it never happened, instead we gave the cops guns (thats really helped) and under the current leadership are racking up more gun crime and murders than at any other time in the history of our country but it seems our governors and the UK government are happy with the performance of the BPS

  25. Red says:

I hope the cams in that area work….. If you know something, say something. We can’t blame the Gov’t of the day or of days gone by either.

We hold the key, those of us who know of these senseless acts, yet keep our lips shut tightly need to speak up! The sooner this mind set is changed in regards to “pricking” being taboo, the sooner We will see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.

    Just saying…..

  26. Just asking says:

Can the police assist the public as well by assuring us that everything was caught on camera?

  27. only in Bermuda says:

Like I’ve said before, change the laws to death, feed them 2 meals a day, give them clean clothes twice a week, and let them share cells together, along with no visitors and no snack goods from family. Earn their keep inside prison and the only way they can get their hands on soap, snacks, cigarettes etc. Is if they work for it.

This will save government hundreds of thousands of dollars per year and will be a little uncomfortable for these guys. Have you ever seen the show locked up abroad? How many of them do you think come out and reoffend.

Remember life in Bermuda means that they can be released. So if you think its bad now wait and see in about 15 years when these same offenders arereleased the havoc they cause. It’s really not a bad thing for these guys you know, get life at age 22 or so. Your back on the streets by age 45. Spend time with their families, children, and travel the world.

I personally know of 6 people not gang bangers that have killed someone or taken a life and have been released back in society all before age 45. Living large, travelling, working, have children and smiling in the faces of the family members who lost their love ones.So until we change the laws for life to mean life then this WILL continue to happen.

This is a joy ride for these guys. They know that someday they will see the day of light outside of Westgate.
Now I will say that the political party the has the balls to change things at Westgate will have my vote. This will also help get our budget in balance and save the tax payers millions.

    • cut @zz is needed says:

@ only in Bermuda. I agree with you totally. 1st of all I wasn’t to good in maths in school. But somebody do the math for me. How is it that we have the elderly not getting food n kids not been feed properly But yet we feed these punk **** 3times a day. The elsely help build Bda and these fools just are just breaking it down. I say if the family n friends want to protect these punks. I say let the families feed them as well or they just get 1 meal a day. Give they all bright pink jump suits n purple flip flops and shave all of them bald. They need 2 work for visits n privaleges and STOP spoiling there rotten **** let them complain.

  28. jim hill says:

    So.
    Another shooting.
    Gang related?
It’s time something was done about these fools.
The problem is, everything we have tried is, so far, failing.
Why don’t we try something new.
How about a media campaign that make being in a gang an embarrassment?
Something that makes young boys think “No way! That’s not me!”.
My idea would be a series of comparative posters, spread around the island.
    Here are a few examples;

(So, you want to be a tough guy?)
Left side of poster shows several firemen battling a hellacious blaze.
Right side shows several gangsters beating a pensioner for her purse.

    (Job satisfaction)
Left side shows a doctor who has just delivered a baby.
Right side shows a thug selling drugs to school kids

    (It’s all about respect)
Left side shows montage of well respected people, such as Nelson Mandela, Steve Jobs, Desmond TuTu.
Right side shows mug shots of local gang leaders.

The poster campaign could be backed by a media campaign highlighting some of the lowlights of gang life.
Things such as gang initiations that include oral sex (MM) and the rape of under age girls, and the real meaning of the lowrider pants.

If we could make it shameful to be a gangster, remove the glamour from the thug life, maybe we can begin to stem the tide of violence.

As an extra bonus, this would not cost very much money compared to other anti gang initiatives.

So, love or hate my idea, I had to post it.
If I just sat around complaining that “someone should do something about this”, I would be part of the problem myself.

    • thirty says:

@ jim hill … These are fantastic ideas! This needs to be done!

      • Come Correct says:

I like the idea too, it could potentially help to stem the problem in the future, that’s the sort of proactive response we need. What about the existing problem though, I think this idea and any like it need to be coupled with a more aggressive approach to dealing with the existing issue. They say when you take one down another will take their place, we’ve already seen that happen, so by taking the appeal away from the lifestyle we can hopefully stop or restrict that process yielding more positive results in tackling the existing problem.

Another thing, and where our politicians come in, is that tmoney runs the world as we know it, throughout human existence we have always tried to make our lives easier, we have invented things to do just that and to make our lives more comfortable, it’s in our nature to do that. So can you really blame these guys for taking the easy way to money when there’s so many hurdles and flaming hoops to jump through in order to be successful? Yes I know people do it all the time through hard work and dedication and others even through ways of corruption but no 2 lives are the same, everyone has their own story. For one example, in school we are to told to do well and pay attention or we won’t get a good job. Some children do really well while others struggle, the kids that do well are praised and pushed forward while the others are labeled as stupid even though we know that some people learn differently. Some use their minds others use their hands, so where is our tech school? If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its life as if it is stupid. If we dont give these fish the opportunity to swim, if you don’t give them a pond, don’t blame them for jumping into the dark murky mangroves, don’t blame them for choosing the only option that may have presented itself to them, they already believe they’re stupid because that’s what our current education system tells them. That’s just one of many issues that leads us to this problem we face.

    • ganja mon says:

You need to smoke a spliff..then wake up from your dream..

Bermuda does NOT have gang initiations like as you mentioned.

The poster campaign could be backed by a media campaign highlighting some of the lowlights of gang life.
Things such as gang initiations that include oral sex (MM) and the rape of under age girls, and the real meaning of the lowrider pants.

Secondly, gangs do not go around raping under age girls..That has to be the craziest s*** i’ve ever heard !!

      • jim hill says:

We all need to wake up & pull our heads out of the sand (or other places).
This has happened, and does happen.
The issue is, gangsters want to be seen as hyper macho.
        It is all a front.
The sooner the general public realizes how pathetic they really are, the better.
We need to stop shaking in fear, and start shaking with laughter every time we see one of these clowns waddling around with their boxers on display.
Laughter really could be the best medicine if we could make being a gangster an embarrassment, rather than a status issue.

  29. Father God have mercy! says:

There are none so blind that will not see, not cannot, but will not.

Most of you are pointing fingers in the wrong direction.

Just look back, after the churches gathered together to pray there was no violence for a good while, there was quiet.

There is something that happens when people come together in one accord to pray. It must!

But the problem is that just one prayer is not enough, in fact it is the Christians that are holding your beautiful island hostage and I dear say the world.

You have too many Saturday/Sunday Christians. Too many self absorbed hypocrites. Who are only concerned about their members and have forgotten that we are meant to go out into the high ways and make disciples of all men; not sit in a church and regurgitate the same scriptures over and over.

To many religious people pretending that they are better than others.

You want to see change in that island, start challenging the church leaders to come out of their four walls and make a difference in their communities, at last count when I lived in Bermuda (and yes I am Bermudian born and raised for over 40 years)there was 153 churches.

How in the world do you have that many churches in 22sq miles and the power of God not be evident continually?

You are wasting your time blaming governmental leaders, unions, various governmental departments. That is all surface stuff, you go to the root, to the foundation and effect change at that level and you will see results.

You want change in Bermuda, may I suggest that you go back to the source and His representatives on earth.

You are fighting a spiritual war over there and there is no way you can fight a spiritual war by doing things in the natural. God is very strategic and He has never lost a battle and those that KNOW(are intimate with Him, have taken the time to understand and desire to do His will completely) Him, will be able to assist you all on dealing with this and any other problems you may face there.

BUT here me and here me well: If you choose to continue to not call upon them to give account for their lack of actions and request to hear what they have to say on these matters and will be obedient to follow through with them. You have no one but yourselves to blame and the bloodshed will continue and it will be on your hands.

He that has an ear let Him hear!

p.s. for those that are standing in the gap, because I know that there are some (cause if there wasn’t it would be a lot worse)stay the course and continue to press in even the more. May your allies locate you to see this to the end.

  31. Plato says:

So when did all of this start again? Are you all so blind that you cannot see why and exactly when all of the shooting started back up again, there is an elephant in the room and until the powers that be address it I suggest everyone in that lifestyle…

  32. Tired says:

I have said it before, and I will keep saying it. Get rid of the “life in prison” sentence. Give them 200 years, this way you can gaurantee they will not be coming out. Also, adopt the 3 point system. and like “only in bermuda” says, stop babying these pieces of craps. They have it too good in prison. If you commit murder you get 200 years. You harm someone with a gun you get 100 years. Having a gun period should get you 50 years. We are too lenient of these criminals. And to the parents of these criminals, (those that are in self-denial), wake up and smell the coffee. Yours kids are killing kids. I hope and pray to God, one day they do not kill a young child.

  33. Really?? says:

The police need to do something about these shootings. These guys are going around executing people. I know that the community at large don’t know this but there was another shooting incident week before last (Wednesday 21st) on Parimeter Lane. Where the person was in the bushes and came out and shot at a guy as he rode past. The police were notified but this story was never published in the media. (Bernews ask the police and report on this) If you go to Parimeter Lane now, you will see that the trees have been cut back. I don’t know why the Police did not release the information to the media. But you all need to know that shooting incidents are happening more regularly than you read in the paper. These guys are out on the hunt and it is mainly in the Pond Hill, Glebe Road area. That is lot a large area to cover and the Police should be patrolling it constantly. I am just tired of all this gun violence and killing. I just wish some proactive things were done instead of all the reactive actions from the police.

@ Really??…you speak the truth…..There are many incidents that go unreported…Yet the public is always lulled into a fall sense of security when crime statistics are released…..SMH….All is NOT as it seems…..

  34. Diamond in the Rough says:

Def some good ideas here on the poster. Would have to seriously think on the respect one however. Consider that (1)the younger generation of bangers may need to be educated on WHO the actual role models are, and what their contributions to our world are, and (2) The “alleged” local gang leaders may take an offense to having their pics made public and respond with a defamation lawsuit. (3) IMO, those young and impressionable minds that personally know the locals pictured may hold them in high regard, and by placing them in such a high profile, you may just elevate their status even further. (Not everyone who keeps their mouth shut does so out of fear, many youngsters idolize gangsters).
I say this as someone who witnessed the elevation of gang leaders to almost a rock star status personally, both here and abroad.

Anyone remember a mini-series that ran in the RG back in the day about a local dope dealer titled “Wille ever be Caught?”, I’m not sure if that was the title of the series or just the segment that highlighted that particular individual, however, my point is, the article made the man appear to us poor ghetto kids someone to look up to. I remember being impressed with the tenacity and “never say die” attitude that this person seemed to exhibit. (Not to mention that I know the person portrayed personally, and he is a charismatic individual, as those who know him will agree) Sorry “Yardie”, had to expose you for the greater good.

We need to recognize that these denizens of a corruptible society DO hold sway over not only young, but older minds alike. They can in some cases be the modern Robin Hood. We are speaking of the men who hold the money, the power, and the women that young men desire. The better question is, how do we remove the glamor from the gangster lifestyle? An age old question no doubt.

This is not a problem unique to Bermuda. All modern cultures, and some not so modern, have experienced this phenomenon. We in our “civilized” state have simply re-branded our affinity for certain traits in individuals and named them POLITICIANS.

Before the individual party folk jump, let me state that I support neither party, but think that both bring valid points to the table. I would fully support a REAL bi-partisan approach to local politics. Now both party supporters can hate me, but no one can deny that both parties bring something unique to the table. Everyone simply needs to accept that TOGETHER, we can make OUR country a better place for all of us to live. Unless and until, we abandon the “My party” is better for the country attitude, we will never rise above the social ills that we are now facing. For our own selfish reasons, we have reached this place together, and the only way we can leave this place is TOGETHER. Come on people, get over it, work as one, achieve the common goal, THEN, we can all go back to the petty in-fighting that we all know and love.

Just One Man’s (JOM) opinion, take it as you will.

    • Come Correct says:

Do you know why they idolize gangsters? I’ll see if I can break this down. I Like football (not American football or egg hand as it should be called) and I support Manchester United, but if Liverpool played Chelsea I would hope Liverpool won but if they played United I would hope god himself would smite their goal keeper. Point is, most humans will pick a team no matter if it’s their main one, most Bermudians don’t like the police thus picking your team is pretty easy from there. If the police spent more time working with the public to show them they aren’t an enemy and less time treating normal people like ****, they may have more supporters. So yes, young people have eyes and when they see the police treat people the way they do, they pick their team early in life and they choose to idolize these gangsters because they are clearly an effective opposition to the opposing team. Personally I don’t glorify gangsters or support them, but I sure as hell don’t help the police due to my past treatment.

  35. JOM says:

On a side note, to Bernews, love you guys, but can you please add an “edit” tab to your site so we can edit posts previously made. We the Public would love it, Thanks.

    • Come Correct says:

You mean to edit your own mistakes right? Or do you enjoy the luxury of censorship like governments do? A lot of people speak garbage on here and others have some truth to what they say, but everyone is entitle to their say no matter how stupid it sounds. It’s up to you as an individual to take what you want from what people say…On a side note, Bernews does a fantastic job as they are. They have excellent coverage and far less censorship on their comments section than any other news outlet as well as a user friendly web page and comment section. Where else could you get so many opinions without having to approach so many individual people?

Good day to every speaker, it is great to see the love expressed through every post because irregardless of view point you all had the same heart toward the problem. So if I may can I just say if we writers/postmen and post women will take the same attitude of love and pour it out on every one and every one daily and as often as we see people this little flir up will evaporate. Look at it from this position every living thing wants care a friend a listening ear some praise some mercy someone to agree with them a helping hand some humor and most of all some love that is not based on conditions.
