Women’s Futsal League Weekend Results

The Women’s Futsal League season continued this past weekend inside the Warwick Academy Gymnasium, with a total of 36 goals scored in the triple header.

Footy Force Stars 13 Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds 1

Footy got off to a slow start, but at half-time they led 5 – 1. Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds could not hold the Footy Force long in the second half as they scored 8 unanswered times. Zarah Gibbons was outstanding for Footy Force scoring 5 goals, her teammate Cheyra Bell found the back of the net 4 times, while Jahziyah Samuels recorded a hat-trick and Leah Smith scored once. KyAnne Scott-Fishenden was MVP for the Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds scoring their only goal to prevent the shut-out.

Somerset Hurricanes 10 Hamilton Parish 2

Eva Frazzoni was outstanding for the Somerset Hurricanes scoring 4 goals to lead them to a 10 – 2 victory over Hamilton Parish. Hamilton Parish gave the Somerset Hurricanes a difficult time in the first half and SCC only led 3 – 1 at half-time. The Somerset Hurricanes found their scoring touch in the second-half scoring 7 goals to Hamilton Parish’s 1. The Somerset Hurricanes also got 3 goals from Deshae Darrell, they also got 2 goals from Dazhja Greaves and a single strike from Kimika Jackson. Hamilton Parish goal a goal from Asrael Basden and Jayda Hill-Steede, while Karen Dechebert was their MVP.

PHC Lady Zebras 7 Dandy Stars 3

The game of the evening saw Dandy Stars give the PHC Lady Zebras a serious challenge to their league leading position and despite PHC leading 3 – 0 at half-time, Dandy Stars could easily have been level. PHC were without their top scorer Aaliyah Nolan, but maintained their lead scoring 4 goals to Dandy Stars 3 to wrap up the game.

Micah Pond was outstanding in goal for PHC keeping their lead with some incredible saves. Ebony Burgess was the MVP for Dandy Stars, playing her first game of the season and caused PHC major problems with her control and ball retention.

Taznae Fubler scored a hat-trick for the Lady Zebras, while Raeesah Shakir scored twice, Jessica Furtado and Zahkia Durham added a goal each. Cleshaunae Darrell-Virgil scored twice for the Dandy Stars, while Burgess scored once.
