David Hemp Takes Australian Coaching Job

D. Hemp - 50Former Bermuda cricket captain David Hemp will serve as an assistant coach for the Prahan Cricket Club in Australia.

The Herald Sun report that he relocated to Melbourne with his family five months ago and is trying to source other coaching roles.

Hemp, 43, will work under new coach Peter Di Venuto, and helped with Prahran’s match-day preparation in the final round against Northcote.

“I got a bit of a feel for the club and was made to feel very welcome,” he said.

Hemp played County cricket from 1991 to 2008, starting and finishing at Glamorgan but having five years at Warwickshire in between.

The left-handed batsman has also played for Bermuda numerous times at international level, stepping down as captain in 2012.
