46 Students Receive NTB Scholarship Awards

The Minister of Home Affairs Sen. Michael Fahy was in attendance at an informal ceremony for the recipients of scholarships awarded by the National Training Board which took place on Friday.

The Minister said, “I would like to thank the National Training Board for continuing to provide scholarship awards and opportunities for our people. Because of these 2014 scholarships 46 people now have the chance to further their education and improve their marketability in the workforce.”

There were two types of scholarships awarded – the National Technical Vocational Training [NTVT] Award and the Sponsorship Trainee Award.

The NTVT Award is a merit and needs assistance award. The award is valued at $5,000 per year based on the attainment of a minimum 2.7 grade point average. Programs of study must not exceed four years.

For the Sponsorship Trainee Award, industry partners submit an application on behalf of an employee to participate in a specific onetime course for a period not to exceed 24 months. The award is at a onetime total value of $18,000. This program is linked with an apprenticeship and full-time employment upon successful completion.

    That girl in the first picture in the front row (light pants) could be a model. If she hasn’t given the prospect any thought before, she probably should and start actively pursuing a modelling contract. Look into it dear. With the requisite training, I can picture you walking down a catwalk in Milan, Paris, London or New York in the not too distant future.
