BHB Offering Tours Of New Acute Care Wing

July 22, 2014

The Bermuda Hospitals Board [BHB] is laying on free public tours as well as a paid fundraising tour of the new Acute Care Wing as it gets closer to completion.

A spokesperson said, “You have a chance to tour the new Acute Care Wing in style by attending Tour d’oeuvres. Organised by Bermuda Hospitals Board, the event will feature hors d’oeuvres, fine wines and small group tours of the new wing.

“Slated for Friday, August 22 from 6.00pm through 8.30pm, tickets to Tour d’oeuvres are $50 and all proceeds will benefit the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust.”

“We are very pleased to host the fundraising event but will also hold free tours,” said BHB President and CEO Venetta Symonds. “We take our responsibility to serve the entire community very seriously and free tours of the new wing will be available to the general public so that everyone has the opportunity to see first-hand, many of the facility’s features.

“Demand for tours from the general public has been extremely high and BHB is working hard to facilitate everyone whilst at the same time readying the building to start service in September. The new wing is state of the art and will enable better healthcare for everyone in the island. We are delighted to show the community the new building where our most sick will receive the best possible care.”

“Only 200 tickets are available for Tour d’oeuvres event, so book early to avoid disappointment. Call 239-1690 or email to book.

“Free public tours are available for Saturday, August 23 from 10am through 5pm and on Sunday from 12.00pm through 5.00pm. These tours must be booked in advance as there are limited numbers. Call 239-5550 or email and list three preferred dates and times for your tour. Please note tours can be booked for a maximum of two people, no strollers will be allowed, and that each tour is 30 minutes.”
