As part of this year’s Police Week — which is celebrating 135 years of policing — the Bermuda Police Service hosted a lunchtime open air concert on Wednesday [Oct 8] in front of the City Hall steps in Hamilton featuring the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band led by Superintendent Ronald Campbell.

Crowds gathered on the lawn and surrounding areas to be entertained by the visiting group with some jumping up to dance and singing band members intermingling with the audience. Those on hand included higher ranking officers within the force, many of which could be seen interacting with the crowd which consisted of many retired police officers sharing memories of the past.

The performance was a preview to the upcoming Police Tattoo being held on Saturday October 11th at the National Sports Centre in Devonshire. Admission is free and the Tattoo is scheduled to begin promptly at 7pm with gates opening at 6pm and organisers are encouraging those attending to come early in order to secure a seat.

Scheduled to join the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band are the North Village Community Band, Somerset Brigade Band, Bermuda Regiment Band and the Bermuda Islands Pipe Band and Dancers.

Leading up to the concert at City Hall, the Bermuda Police Service held a Parade of Staff [Past & Present] led by the Bermuda Regiment Band & Corps of Drums that left Hamilton Police Station and proceeded through the City of Hamilton ending at City Hall.
