Photos: Bar Association Cocktail Reception

Members of the Bermuda Bar Association recently attended a cocktail reception at Harborfront Restaurant to honour the retirement of Justice Edward Zacca and Sir Anthony Evans from the Court of Appeal.

Justice Zacca was first appointed to the Court of Appeal for Bermuda in 1996 and served as President of the Court from January 2004, while Sir Anthony was appointed in January 2003. Sir Scott Baker, currently a Justice in the Bermuda Court of Appeal, will serve as President of the Court, with effect from 1 January.

In his remarks to those gathered, President of the Bermuda Bar Association Justin Williams said, “It’s very appropriate that the members of the Judiciary, Bar Council and the members of the Bermuda Bar and have come together tonight to express our gratitude to Justice Zacca and Sir Anthony for their years of service to our judicial system.”

Sir Anthony was presented with engraved silver/glass decanter tray to accompany the glass decanter that he received from the Supreme Court, while Justice Zacca received a tea chest engraved with a special thank you message from the members of the Bermuda Bar.
