Planning Approves 48 New Housing Units
The Department of Planning has officially approved plans submitted for two residential developments that are set to create a total of 48 housing units in Sandys and St David’s.
As Bernews previously reported, the plan for Sandys is a three-story development with 24 two-bedrooms, while the plan for the East End is also a three-story development, however this will include 12 two-bedrooms and 12 three-bedrooms.
Both developments are planned by the Ministry of Housing and Municipalities, and form part of the Government’s wider Affordable Housing Programme.
The summary of the plans for the development in the East End — as listed in the approval notice — stated, “Proposed Two 3-Storey Residential Buildings for Tommy Fox Village Comprising 12 Two-Bedroom and 12 Three-Bedroom Units [24 Total] With Associated Infrastructure, Parking [31 Cars / 33 Bikes], Landscaping, New Access to Tommy Fox Road, 5-Foot Retaining Walls [Max. Height], Playground, and Communal Waste Facilities.
The summary for the plants in the west end stated, “Proposed 3-Storey Residential Development for Albert Row Village Comprising 24 Two-Bedroom Dwelling Units with Associated Infrastructure, Parking [31 Cars / 33 Bikes], Landscaping, Playground, New Access to Malabar Road, Relocated Bus Lay-By, and Associated Site Works.”
