Five Young Men Receive SCC/Best Scholarships

December 31, 2014

Five Somerset Cricket Club members were given a helping hand toward education with funds received from the Clyde Best Scholarship Golf Tournament held earlier this year.

Best has been recognized globally not only for his football skills, but also as a man who helped break the color barrier in English football.

Alfred Maybury the President of the Somerset Cricket Club said, “These scholarships are just another way to honour a man that has achieved great things. I hope these young men that are receiving these scholarship funds understand the reason for something like this.”

Jaz Rattery-Smith, Greg Maybury, Joshua Gilbert, Justin Donawa and Ras Stafari Burrows shared a total of $10,000.00.
