BCB Currently Updating Its Strategic Plan

February 5, 2015

The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] has confirmed that it is currently updating its strategic plan, with a comprehensive stakeholder review already completed, in addition to an update of its SWOT analysis, support structures and pathway review.

On February 6 and February 7, 2015, the BCB will meet to review its vision statement, mission and values; define strategic directions and goals; and identify actions and success indicators.

A spokesperson said, “The BCB has been selected as a targeted country by the ICC Americas regional office, who will be supporting the development of the strategic and operational plan. Regional Development Officer Tom Humphries will be attending the meetings.

“Additionally, the ICC has provided the services of Judy Sutcliffe to facilitate the process. Judy Sutcliffe is the Principal, The Sutcliffe Group Incorporated, a full service social research consulting firm based in Toronto, Canada, formed over three decades ago.

“Working exclusively in the sport, recreation and physical activity sectors, The Sutcliffe Group specializes in helping organizations improve the delivery of sport, recreation and physical activity through better governance.

“For 17 years, Judy was a Director in the Government of Ontario, most recently as Ontario Director responsible for Sport & Recreation Policy, Planning and Programs; for seven years up to 2002, was the Provincial Territorial Co-Chair of the Federal-Provincial/Territorial Sport Committee [FPTSC] the body of senior officials from across Canada that guides the development of sport policy in the country.”

Lloyd Fray, President of the BCB, said, “The BCB has always recognized the importance of strategic planning and ensuring that its governance processes continue to match international best practice. The Executive review the strategic plan annually and conduct strategic planning on a triennial basis.

“I am very encouraged that the ICC has selected Bermuda as a targeted country providing further validation to the quality and consistency of our work. I look forward to engaging with Judy this weekend as we work together to connect cricket from the grass roots to the world stage.”
