The Jamaican Association of Bermuda [JAB] recently held its second Life Members’ Induction and Awards Banquet in recognition of its 28 years of service to the local community and Jamaica.

The awards included the Humming Bird Award of Distinction, the Marcus Mosiah Garvey Lifetime Achievement Award, the Lignum Vitae Sports Awards, and the Blue Mountain Sponsorship Award.

The Humming Bird Award of Distinction was awarded to Judith Morgan-Swan, Orville Campbell, Bobby Carty, Corville Hylton, Donavan Livingston, Kenneth Wallen, Lucious Lindo, Causwell Robinson, Rowan Ramotar, and Lloyd Morrison.

The Marcus Mosiah Garvey Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Glenmore Barrett, Shurnett Caines, Marlene Flynn-Carty, Norman Godwin, Patricia Harvey, Donald Hyman, Emancia Outerbridge, Joan Richardson, Courtney Sinclair, Ralston Wright, and Professor Roy Wright.

The Lignum Vitae Sports Awards were awarded to Chefton Hall, Keneik Wallen, Neil Anglin, Presley Millwood, Michael Campbell, Ian Cooke, and Orville Hall.

The Blue Mountain Sponsorship Award was awarded to Bermuda Financial Network Ltd, Bermuda Healthcare Services, Burrows Lightbourn Ltd, Butterfield & Vallis, Dunkley’s Ltd, ENT Health Practice [Dr. Wesley Miller], Fish N’ Tings, Goslings Brothers Ltd, Headley Stephenson Construction, Jamaican Grill, John Barritt & Son Ltd, Spanish Town Entertainment, Spring Garden Restaurant & Bar, TeleBermuda International Limited, The Money Shop, and Wilks Catering.

A spokesperson previously said, “The JAB Life Members’ Induction and Awards Banquet will recognize individuals and organizations who have been instrumental in the continued success of the Jamaican Association [Bermuda].

“These include our dedicated members who have given tireless, voluntary service, our cricketers, athletes and our committed sponsors who have consistently supported us.”
