Governor George Fergusson will be leaving Bermuda on Tuesday [Aug 2], and the public is invited to attend a “farewell and handover ceremony and parade.”

“His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Fergusson will leave Bermuda on Tuesday, 2 August at the end of their tour of duty,” a spokesperson said.

“The Deputy Governor, Mrs Ginny Ferson, will assume office as Acting Governor until the appointment of a substantive successor.

46-minute podcast with Governor who sat down with us for a wide ranging interview last week:

“Members of the public are warmly invited to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs Fergusson either at Barr’s Bay Park, Hamilton where they will leave by police launch for Dockyard at 3.45 pm or at King’s Wharf Terminal, Dockyard where a farewell and handover ceremony and parade will begin at 4 pm.
