Siblings From Bermuda Enjoying Time At USW

October 5, 2016

A student from Bermuda is helping two of her siblings settle into university life in Cardiff.

Destiny Smith, 22, a third-year student on the BA Advertising Design course at the University of South Wales [USW], now has her sister and brother keeping her company.

Big sister Krystal Lowe, 26, has recently taken up a position as associate lecturer in dance, while brother TJ, 20, has just started the first year of an animation degree.

Even though she has only just started her final year at USW, Destiny has already secured a job at S3 advertising in Cardiff when she graduates next year.

“It’s great to be offered my dream job before I have finished my studies,” said Destiny. “I’ve already learned so much at USW and am looking forward to improving my skills further before I leave to start my career.”

For Krystal, the lecturing role allows her to pass on the skills she honed while working for Ballet Cymru.

“I started there in 2012 as a ballet dancer, and am still a guest artist, and the flexibility with USW allows me to continue to perform with Ballet Cymru,” said Krystal.

“I’m still very active with the company, and will be performing in Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs at the Wales Millennium Centre this December,”

And for TJ, the decision to come to Cardiff came easily.

“I chose USW for its percentage of success, high ranking for my degree and distance from home,” he said.
