The People’s Campaign hosted a public meeting on the Airport Redevelopment Project this evening [Dec 1] at St. Paul’s Centennial Hall.
The speakers for the meeting were Opposition Leader David Burt, columnist Larry Burchall, and BIU President Chris Furbert, with Rev. Nicholas Tweed serving as the moderator.
The debate on the airport legislation is scheduled to take place in the House of Assembly on Friday.

OMG…. did he just start out the night by asking people to remember what the date tomorrow represents…. so now an airport deal that he disagrees with is being held in comparison to the actions from 1977…… and if he wants to big up the assembled panel as “great”, he should realize that NOT ONE represents the argument for the current deal… so NO it’s not “great”, it is one sided… praying to god to dispense justice…. what am I listening too…. come on Bermuda… really…

The reason they had the member’s only meeting was because they were getting a lot of heat from OBA members about the airport. Once people in the OBA understood and had it explained to them they supported it.
In all honesty, it looks to me like it was nothing more than a rallying cry. Bob Richards would have probably schooled them and they know it, so they simply didn’t invite them. I get it…
you do know that was after failed attempts to hold meetings to pass on information…. so they held one to inform their member that would not be disturbed…. hey, I’m no OBA fan and would like to have heard it in the original forum that was attempted before selfish people interrupted…. If your going to criticize be genuine and honest.
Your point? The Government hosted many earlier public meetings to share the exact same information with the electorate.

Why lie? There was no billion dollar airport plan ever! The PLP made it very clear that they had no plans to proceed with the new terminal recommended in the 2008 Master Plan. And there WAS NEVER any mention of privatizing the airport.
