East Dominate In BSSF All Star Netball Matches
The east swept all three matches at the 2018 Bermuda School Sports Federation All Star Netball matches at the Bermuda College on Friday night, with the crowd entertained with three thrilling and action packed games.
Primary School
The east jumped to a 9-4 halftime time lead and looked to ease their way to victory. But the third quarter belonged to Kammie Mills from West End Primary who scored six goals in the quarter to help the west level the score at 12-12 by the end of the third quarter.
The teams exchanged goals throughout the fourth quarter before the east scored two goals in the last minute to secure an 18-16 victory. Mills led all scorers with 11 goals earning her MVP honors. The east MVP was MaKaylie Smith from Northlands Primary School who scored 9 goals. Ziae Castle from Victor Scott Primary School added 8 goals for the winners.

Middle School
The east led from start to finish in the Middle School game behind the shooting of Dellwood Middle Schools Elishae’ Smith. MVP Smith led all scorers with 11 goals in the 20-11 win. Kemiyah Butterfield from Sandys Secondary Middle School added 7 goals for the victors. The west was led by MVP Nasaiah Berkley from Bermuda High School with 9 goals. Whitney Institute’s Nasya Burgess chipped in with 2 goals.

Senior School
Selah Tuzo from Saltus Grammar School scored twice in the second period of extra time to lead the east to a 18-16 win in the Senior School match. The west trailed from the start at scored four times in a frantic final minute of regulation to even the game at 16-16.
A first period of extra time couldn’t determine a winner but Tuzo settled matters late in the second period with two game winning efforts. Debre Evans from CedarBridge Academy was named MVP for the east and added five goals. The west MVP was goalkeeper Nabiilah Nasir from the Berkeley Institute. Twin sister Kaamilah led the west with 8 goals while Schoolmate Kessiah Jackson scored 7.
