Police: Man’s Body Found In Corkscrew Hill Area

[Updated] Temporary traffic diversions are in effect this afternoon [Feb 4] in the Corkscrew Hill area “after a man’s lifeless body was found,” the police have confirmed.

A police spokesperson said, “Temporary traffic diversions are currently in effect at Corkscrew Hill in Devonshire after a man’s lifeless body was found in the area. Update to follow.”

Update 5.15pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 1pm today [February 4th] police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man in the Corkscrew Hill, Devonshire area.

“The man was found by a member of the public and later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor.

“Initial information suggests that the deceased may have been living rough at that location.

“A temporary traffic diversion was in effect at the top of Corkscrew Hill from approximately 3:50pm until approximately 4:30pm to facilitate the removal of the body.

“Currently inquiries are underway to establish the man’s identity and notify his next of kin.”
