Trio To Compete In Canadian Jr Championships

July 21, 2019

The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association announced three swimmers will be participating in the Canadian Junior Swimming Championships.

This annual event brings together the top Age Group Swimmers from all over Canada, and beyond. In the past, there have also been swimmers participating from Ireland, Hungary and the United States, as well as Bermuda.

This year the pool competition will be hosted at the Repsol Sports Centre in the city of Calgary in western Canada. The Open Water competition will be held in Lake Chaparral, just south of the city.

Competition at this meet will be fierce, as all the competitors will have been required to meet the very difficult qualifying standard in each event.

Leading the rush for Bermuda will be Logan Watson-Brown, fresh from her triple Gold Medal performance at the CCCAN championships three weeks ago in Barbados. She will be competing in the 100 Butterfly and the 50, 100 and 200 Freestyle events.

Backstroke specialist Jack Harvey will be looking to improve on his performances from CCCAN, where he took the Silver Medal in the 200 Backstroke, as well as making finals in the 100 Backstroke.

Brian Desmond is a distance Freestyler and will be competing in the 200, 400 and 800 Freestyles, as well as the 3-kilometer Open Water event.
