Photos: Bermuda Law Enforcement Torch Run

There were smiles all along the route as members of the Bermuda Police Service, Corrections, Fire Services joined Bermuda’s Special Olympians in a Law Enforcement Torch Run yesterday [Oct 19] which started at the Police Field, made its way through the City of Hamilton and concluded at the National Sports Centre in Devonshire.

Participants including Assistant Commissioner Antoine Daniels and Superintendent James Howard as well as new recruits all helped carry the “Flame of Hope”.

Superintendent Claire Armes who also took part said, “What an amazing and inspiring experience supporting the Bermuda Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run and the fabulous achievements of our athletes.”

Bermuda’s Special Olympians made an excellent showing at the Special Olympic World Games winning an impressive 19 medals in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. Bermuda’s 13-strong team competed in track and field, tennis, bowling and equestrian.
