The 21 year old University of Tennessee at Chattanooga player is the daughter of Jennifer Fray and James Wade.

One of the team’s premiere players, she has been twice been awarded ‘Player of the Week’ honours this season.

With the 60-49 win over Georgia Southern, Ms. Wade-Fray’s team, the top-seeded ‘Lady Mocs’, advance to Monday’s championship game where they will face Samford.

The Lady Mocs will make their 13th appearance in the SoCon finals, with Samford making its first appearance. The game will be televised live on American television channel SportsSouth.

You can view a great photo gallery of the game here, Ms. Wade-Fray is in white wearing #15. There is also a comprehensive game report here, with video and audio [both of which require you to have Silverlight installed on your PC to view].

Ms. Wade-Fray is not the only female Bermudian basketball player doing well overseas. Marshall University team member Erica Woods played for the U/20 Great Britain National Team, traveling to Estonia, Greece and Macedonia for the U/20 European Championships.

Considered Bermuda’s two biggest female basketball stars, both ladies were members of the bronze medal winning Bermudian team at the 2007 Island Games. Interestingly enough, both ladies are listed at 5ft 9″, both hail from St. Georges and both play the same position – guard.
