Pedestrian Struck By Motorbike Rider
On Saturday [May 28] a 16-year-old male was crossing the street when he was struck by a motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle and the pedestrian were injured; however Police confirm that their injuries are not considered serious.
A Police spokesman said, “Around 4:15pm on Saturday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Parsons Road in Pembroke involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.”
“It appears that the motorcycle was traveling along Parsons Road and the pedestrian, a 16 year old male, was crossing a pedestrian crossing in the area when the collision occurred. The rider of the motorcycle and the pedestrian were injured; however their injuries are not considered serious. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”
Police reported two additional accidents on Saturday. “Around 10:05am on Saturday, Police responded to a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Devonshire near the junction with Devonshire Bay Road,” said a Police spokesman.
“It appears that a pedal cyclist was traveling along South Road when he was involved in a collision. As a result the 57 year old man was injured; however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.”
“Around 3:45am on Saturday, Police responded to a reported damage only road traffic collision near the junction of South Road and Middle Road in Paget involving two cars. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along South Road when they collided.”
“The drivers of both cars were not injured; however both vehicles were extensively damaged. One of the car drivers was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test.”
