Traffic Delays On North Shore

[Updated] Earlier this afternoon [Sept.23] emergency services responded to a report of an accident on North Shore Road, Smith’s near Jennings Road. The accident reportedly involving a car overturning, however by time we arrived the car was upright on the side of the road. A police spokesperson said, “Please note that traffic is currently being diverted from the North Shore Road area of Smith’s parish near Jennings Road due to a collision reportedly involving an overturned car.”

There were further traffic delays in the area, due to a reported medical emergency in the Middle Road, Devonshire area near Belvin’s which also saw traffic delays.

Update Sept 25: A Police spokesperson said, “Around 5:30pm on Friday, police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Jennings Road.”

“Initial reports suggested that the car overturned; however that apparently was not the case. Instead, it appears that the car was traveling along North Shore Road when it collided with a wall.”

“The driver, a 31 year old Devonshire man, was not injured. The front seat passenger, a 46 year old Pembroke man, sustained minor injuries. The car received damage to several areas. Traffic was temporarily diverted away from the scene. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”

    Not another saloon car. Those things are inherently dangerous. They should stop bringing them in.

    This appears, as in most cases, to be caused by driver error. As drivers, we must be focused on the driving at all times – or as much as humanly possible.
