Video: Hall Of Fame Seeks Nominations

January 2, 2012

The Bermuda Musicians & Entertainers Hall of Fame is encouraging nominations from the public for future inductions into the Pembroke museum.

In 2011 pianist and poet Alvin Brangman, pianist Norma Brown-Raynor and the late saxophonist Earlston Smith were inducted into the hall of fame by co-founder Parliamentarian Dale Butler, a longtime historian of Bermudian music and musicians.

Other Bermuda music legends whose names have been enshrined in the hall of fame since it opened include “Bermuda Is Another World” composer Hubert Smith, internationally renowned jazz pianist Lance Hayward and The Talbot Brothers.

Honouring giants in such fields as Calypso, Gospel and Country & Western music, the Bermuda Musicians & Entertainers Hall Of Fame is also eager to hear from those willing to loan photographs and other memorabilia related to the island’s performers and promoters.

The hall of fame is located in jazz musician Shine Hayward’s music school at 97 St. John’s Road.

For more information on the hall of fame and its activities  please contact Mr. Butler at ddbutler@logic.bm
