What’s the news here? This place has been for sale for years … at pretty much the same price.

  2. Cedar Beams (Original) says:

Actually it was for sale for $10m so they’ve put the price UP as a result of it not selling. Hmm, must try that.

    • My two cents says:

Only in Bermuda would someone think that was smart. Meanwhile everywhere else in the world that truly wants to sell something LOWERS there price when something sits on the market. Obviously they don’t really need to sell. It’s more of if it sells great, if it doesn’t I can wait until the economy bounces back deal.

I liked it when it was The Plantation Restaurant. It was run by Chris & Carole West. Good times.

  4. Wicky Choopa says:

lol and there are those out there who think if we lift the restrictions on foreigners buyings property our real estate market will get better? lol

The prices we are asking for regular properties is disguisting and no one in their right minds (esp those who have been in other housing markets) will buy at our prices.

    a bubble waiting to burst.

  5. Oh Please says:

If I had $10million I would build a house to my own specifications. Why would anyone pay $10m for a house on the roadside that has been customized to someone elses’ taste. Oh please, anyone with that kind of money could build their own house for alot less. Get real! Greedy, wishful thinking.

    • Yup says:

Tru Dat. Also, why would anyone spend $10MM on a house in a place which is being run down by the govt. Geees…I’m not gonna build a crappy garage if PLP are in power ruining things. To buy that house you must be stupid rich or just plain stupid.

Regarding all the comments above…All I can say is THIS IS NEWS TO THE OWNERS AS WELL!!!!!!!!!……Regarding the value….try to build 10,000 square feet on three and a half acres with a private cave, pool with the level of finishes for less than 10 million…try!!!……I was in a home in Tuckers Town recently where they spent over thirty million in renovations and the finishes are far less impressive…..much smaller too ……I love ignorance….do not comment on what you do not understand!!!!

  7. Andrew Outerbridge says:

By the way….food for thought….I build in the US…wood houses, brick houses , stone houses…and green houses…..and I always tell my clients…..I find it strange that in Bermuda we can build a first class block, plaster and concrete stucture with the latest in kitchens, appliances and finishes for about the same as a wood house of very good quality for around the same price…Now think abot that for a second…Stone versus wood…..Alll our building materials are shipped in and duties are paid…yet we can build a superior structure for around the same price as the US..I do it day in and day out……People who talk about overpriced housing in Bermuda are most certainly ill informed..Quality building as the Bermuda model IS EXPENSIVE…BUT COMPRABLE TO US…Fact!!!!!
