Two British Navy Ships To Visit Bermuda

July 7, 2012

Two British Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships, Argus and Fort Rosalie, will visit Bermuda on Sunday 8 July. This will be the first port of call during this deployment for RFA Argus and the final stop before heading back to the UK for Fort Rosalie.

Both vessels are part of the North Atlantic Patrol Taskforce which will provide Humanitarian aid and Disaster relief support to the UK’s British Overseas Territories and other islands during the Caribbean hurricane season.

RFA Argus will come alongside in Dockyard and remain in Bermuda for two days. Captain Gerard Patterson of Argus and Captain Martin Gould of Fort Rosalie will be meeting the Governor and Premier.

Senior members of the crew of RFA Argus will be visiting the Bermuda Regiment at Warwick Camp and will have a tour of the Police Headquarters.

On Monday afternoon members of the Emergency Measures Organisation, including Minister for National Security Wayne Perinchief, will have a tour of the facilities on board the ship.
