Digicel: Private Jet On Stand-by Ready To Assist

September 5, 2012

Digicel Bermuda is in a heightened state of readiness as Hurricane Leslie approaches. The company notes that it has once again activated its comprehensive Hurricane Preparedness Plan which seeks to protect the interests of its customers, staff and dealers.

Wayne Caines, CEO, Digicel Bermuda says, “It’s all about ensuring our customers can stay connected to family and friends. We take that responsibility very seriously. As such, we have generators installed in the vast majority of our cell sites across the island and ample fuel supplies to meet our requirements.”

According to Mr. Caines, Digicel’s Crisis Management Team is closely monitoring Hurricane Leslie, which is expected to impact Bermuda with winds in excess of 110 miles per hour.

Commenting on another feature of Digicel’s readiness for the hurricane, the CEO pinpoints that a private jet equipped with emergency supplies, vital telecommunications equipment and expert riggers is on standby overseas and ready to assist. The private jet will remain available to Digicel Bermuda in the event that more human and capital resources are required from overseas.

“Plans are already in place to have several of Digicel’s technical team members on site during Hurricane Leslie in order to ensure the continued high quality service to customers. The Digicel Bermuda management team is also equipped with mobile internet modems for their laptops and tablets so that crisis plan email communication can be maintained throughout the storm in the event electricity is lost.

Says Mr. Caines, “We encourage everyone to make all the necessary preparations before Leslie makes landfall and to stay safe as the storm passes through the island. Likewise, we would like to assure our valued customers that we are taking every measure to ensure that we provide the reliable means of communication that our customers rely on and that our customer care team will be available 24/7 as always to ensure our customers receive the very best service.”

As usual Mr. Caines just likes to look like the big man on campus. Why don’t you pay your “temp” retail people properly and give them full benefits instead of spending stupid money on jet planes and ex-pat packages. SMH

  10. You can’t hate the guy for doing what he’s doing, at this time. That’s just stupid. If you’re in a time of need, and you have the capacity to help… Then help!
