  6. False suspicions , I hope . says:

    I know a few people who live on Limehouse Lane . Some fall into that age bracket too . I hope it’s none of them but it has to be said that they all happen to have done very well for themselves despite barely having anything more than a high school education.

    But it seems as though a certain segment of Bermuda doesn’t notice such things . They just have unjustified envy towards people who ”don’t look like them” that got an education and then made huge sacrifices to save and get ahead the legitimate way.

    I anxiously await the release of the names .

    • False assumptions! says:

      @falsesuspicions, I hope.

      Firstly, I would like to make the point that a fair majority of the world’s most successful people are so, not solely because of an education but rather by hard work, sacrifice, dedication and discipline. Though education is an asset, character is, in fact, the defining factor of one’s integrity and ultimate success.

      Secondly, it is a shame that certain people have such a difficult time appreciating and understanding the success of others, without trying to besmirch their character and legacy. This is a moment that calls for a little self-reflection. As Bermudians, we should not be intimidated by others but be inspired. We need to uplift and encourage those who have made sacrifices and legitimately reached their goals.

      Keep in mind that Limehouse lane has more than 8 residents!

      Unfortunately, no degree teaches common sense and tact.

      Signed;
      NOT for the endorsement of the importation of narcotics BUT rather the support of hard working Bermudians who deserve more than to be stereotyped by an envious individual.

  20. nojustice says:

    I think arresting these guys over some weed is stupid! its not like they smuggled in cocaine or herion. its some simple weed and now they’re gonna serve time. smh! Arrest someone over some REAL drugs not something petty that keeps most people sane and happy on this island! FREE UP BERMUDA!

  21. concern says:

    Congratulations to BPS and Customs on a job well done. I only wish Bermuda was like the states and named people once they were arrested.

  23. Xman says:

    If the economy gets any worse than your going to see all kinds of people getting involved in illegal activity’s to make money.
    infect when the economy was doing good people were importing drugs so can you imagine what’s its going to be like – but than again maybe not because there no money floating around like it used to be so there will be less people purchasing of drugs.

  24. Sparrow says:

    @ nojustice: Where in the article does it say that it is weed? Some of the comments on here are hysterical, I love how the Bermuda public assume so much before getting the facts.

  25. sure says:

    @sure – let me try and write that for you cause DANG what the hell is that supposed to say. Is it –

    “SMH It gets worse and worse now days. Bunch of dummys. Think Westgate needs to be a little bigger now. Don’t you think.”

    Yo. Notice the fullstops, the capital letters at the beginning of a sentence. I honestly can’t believe you wrote the word WORSER. Did it even sound right as you said it in your head?

    I’m only doing this because if you wish the public to read your comments (which you ARE entitled to) at least try and make it understandable. It took me almost half an hour to try and figure out what that ONE line meant.

    • Grammar Nazi says:

      Sweetie, sweetie, let me help:

      Shake my head, it continues to get worse and worse nowadays. What a bunch of dummies. I think Westgate needs to be a little bigger now, don’t you think?

      Nice try though!

  28. Speak Truth says:

    Good Day All,
    I agree that names should be WITHHELD, as mentioned, some people may have just been in the vicinity. It is extremely unfair to name individuals because their entire future would be affected, even if they are not involved. How many people do we all know who have been to court, been found NOT GUILTY, but their lives are still negatively affected? This includes the US Customs in Bermuda who CLAIM they don’t have a stop list but still don’t allow these CLEARED people freedom to travel through their “full of drug pushers, murderers, thieves, drunk drivers, pedophiles etc.” precious USA. Hello – wake up people, think how you would feel if your family member was an innocent bystander. Sign me KEEP NAMES WITHHELD UNLESS FOUND GUILTY……

  29. street wise says:

    Looks like no weed for Xmas this year! Nothing’s on the street right now, thanks to this bust. The first drought in years! Look for lots of alcohol-fueled fights around town! When the weed don’t come around the Natives go a little bonkers….
