Nahki Wells Scores Eighteenth Goal Of Season
Bermuda’s Nahki Wells continues his fine form, scoring in the 45th minute during today’s [Feb 2] match against Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium.
The Bradford City website described the goal saying, “Nahki Wells responded for City on the stroke of half time with a superb free-kick from all of 25 yards out that found the corner of the goal and left home ‘keeper Scott Davies rooted to the spot.”
Wells fired again from around 25 yards out in the 75th minute, however it was saved by the goalkeeper. He was substituted for Andy Gray in the 85th minute, and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Today’s goal was the 18th of the season for the 22-year-old Bermudian, who is the leading scorer for Bradford and one of the top scorers in all of League Two.
Wells and Bradford are headed to Wembley later this month to take on Swansea in the Capital One Cup Final.
Bradford are the first League 2 club to reach the Cup Final for 51 years, while Nahki Wells will be the third Bermudian footballer to play at the prestigious stadium, joining Shaun Goater and Kyle Lightbourne.
