Prison Inmate Admits Assaulting Psychiatrist

May 9, 2013

Prison inmate Tracyston Mallory, 26, pleaded guilty to assaulting a Psychiatrist at the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute on 18 January 2013.

Mallory admitted punching the doctor three times and saying: “You’re not listening to me. I don’t want to go to MAWI. I want to do time.” Mallory had to be restrained and put into a secure room at MAWI.

Mallory, who is currently serving a sentence at Westgate for burglary, was given a Conditional Discharge for this January offence.

Senior Magistrate Archie Warner, in handing down his judgment said that at Mallory’s earlier sentencing, the Court had directed that Mallory should be given assistance with his psychiatric issues.

Referring to this previous sentencing, the Magistrate said: “This assault seems a direct result of all those things that the Court lamented at that time.”

The Magistrate said that he was: “…satisfied that the Court has done the best that it can do so far.”

The conditions attached to the Conditional Discharge were that Mallory was to continue to avail himself of the mental health treatment being provided to him whilst he was incarcerated.

Exactly. Where’s the justice for the Dr that got assaulted? Ridiculous!

      • real deal says:

Not saying that it right but those DRs know what they are dealing with working with crazy people has never been a safe job. The Dr must have lost control of the session or was digging into his brain too fast.
Guess what’s so bad about MAWI. He is scared of the drug they put you on. I have seen what those drugs do to a person.

YES THANK YOU! The potent medications do make them worse than they were going in. There has to be better meds they can give that do not completely ruin a persons ability to function normally. Once they go in, its almost as if they’re medicated to stay there. Not to make them better.
