PLP Leader Marc Bean’s Cup Match Message
[Written by Opposition Leader Marc Bean] On behalf of the Bermuda Progressive Labour Party, our members and supporters I extend best wishes to all Bermudians and all who love Bermuda.
Cup Match represents the merging of two cultural heritages; the celebration of the emancipation of one people and the discovery of Bermuda by another.
Over this holiday we will adorn ourselves with the colours of our respective teams and in the spirit of the season, tease each other about who we support on the field. We will take to the water, set up our camp sites and enjoy the numerous activities to be enjoyed.”
In the midst of our celebration, let us be reminded that this holiday began in the minds of men and women free of fear and powered by hope.
This day stands as a testament, not to the politicians who passed laws to make this holiday official, but to the people who through sheer force of will, made it a reality. People power made Cupmatch. Just imagine what else we can accomplish when we decide what we want and cast fear aside?
Travel the island in peace and with respect for each other. Celebrate in fellowship and love for one another and commit to keeping a small part of the Cup Match spirit with us always.

If you’ve been following the live interviews on Mark Bean you would notice that’s the language he uses consistently ( and some of you often criticize him for it) quit frankly I find his speech more credible and profound then the half baked subliminal statement referring to the Emancipation, (the beautiful legacy of a FEW strong people who fought for all of us) are you kidding me. Does this guy have a clue what his ancestors??? went through to state a FEW. What a joke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The manufacturer and seller of Burts Bliss. The shadow finance minister. Bean’s finance spokesman, who evidently was blatantly breaking the law. And these people are supposed to be the ones we trust to make the law.
