Football Association To Start Evaluation Session

The Bermuda Football Association National Academy program announced the evaluation sessions for the intake groups for 2002 birth year boys and U14 girls [born between January 1 2000 and December 31, 2002].

The NA program strives to identify and develop our elite players in preparation for opportunities in Colleges, Prep Schools and Professional Academies, while preparing our national teams for international competitions.

The evaluation sessions will be held during the week of October 28-November 1, 2013 at BFA and the National Sports Center Stadium field.

2002 Boys

Clubs and schools coaches are asked to provide a recommendation for boys born in 2002 to be considered for the National Academy for the 2013-2014 year. These players should demonstrate a high level of ability in their respective age group. Please submit the names and contact information of the players via email to rtodd@bermudafootball.com and have them attend the following evaluation sessions:

  • Monday October 28, 2013 – 5:30-7:00 PM @ BFA Field
  • Tuesday October 29, 2013 – 5:30-7:00 PM @ BFA Field
  • Friday November 1, 2013 – 5:30-7:00 PM @ BFA Field

Players should wear all white and bring shin guards, football boots and a water bottle with them to the field. Players are required to register at the check in table upon arrival at the field. Players are encouraged to attend as many of the sessions as possible to give them the best opportunity to be assessed by the coaching staff.

Selected players will be notified by Monday November 4th, 2013 and regular training will begin on Fridays from 5:30-7:00 PM @ BFA Field.

U14 Girls

Clubs and schools are asked to provide a recommendation for any girls born between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2002 to be considered for the National Academy for the 2013-2014 year. These players should demonstrate a high level of ability in their respective age group and teams. Please submit the names of the players and contact information via email to rtodd@bermudafootball.com .

The players will be invited to participate in a camp during the school break of October 28- November 1, 2013. The camp will run from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily @ the National Sports Center Stadium and

The camp will feature:

  • On field training sessions from 9:00-10:30 AM with National Academy coaches and visiting international coaches
  • Small Sided Games from 11:00-12:00 PM
  • Lunch Break – [players must bring a packed lunch]
  • Afternoon activities to include: Movies, swimming at NSC Pool, Community Service projects, Educational field trip, bowling

There will be no cost for the training aspects of the camp. Participants will bring their own lunch and cover any costs associated with daily activity. Each player should wear white and bring football boots, shin guards and a water bottle. There will be a limited number of spaces available and all players must be pre-registered prior to the camp.

Following the camp players will be selected for an offer of acceptance in the National Academy program and will begin weekly training sessions on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 PM.
