Bradford City Hopeful Wells Injury Isn’t Serious
Bradford City are hopeful that Nahki Wells’ hamstring injury is not serious after the top scorer was taken off in the first half of yesterday’s [Dec 29] 1-1 draw with Swindon.
The Telegraph & Argus report that Wells is a big doubt for the New Year’s Day trip to Notts County but the Club is optimistic about the extent of the problem.
Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson said: “It’s still a bit early to assess the injury but it doesn’t appear too bad. We’ll know more when it’s settled down a bit tomorrow.
Parkinson added: “We got a goal up and then lost our key striker. You take the top scorer out of any team and it’s always going to be tough against a good team like Swindon. Without Nahki, we just lacked that clinical edge in the final third.
“This time of the year when the ground gets heavy, you’ll see a lot of players get those type of injuries.”
As the transfer window reopens, fans will be wondering if the in-demand striker will be seen again at Valley Parade.
Hope he gets Wells soon!
