Nahki Wells & Huddersfield Lose To Leicester
Nahki Wells and his Huddersfield Town teammates took on Leicester this past weekend [Apr 26] at John Smith’s Stadium, dropping a 2-0 decision to finish their season at home with a defeat.
Leicester controlled the flow of the game, with Town unable to generate any offense. Leicester got goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Wes Morgan, who put his team up by two goals with a free-kick.
The Club said, “The Terriers best spell came mid-way through the first half with plenty of possession in the Leicester half. Adam Hammill’s cross found the head of Nahki Wells but the striker was adjudged offside.
“Town came again with Sean Scannell and he won a free-kick on the very edge of the area. However, Hammill’s free-kick was charged down and the chance came to nothing.
“Town came close to pulling one back in the 87th minute, Lolley’s ball across goal found Wells with just Kasper Schmeichel to beat, but the striker could not divert it towards goal and Leicester cleared their lines.”
Despite this latest loss, Town’s Championship status has been secured; Leicester were also declared champions last week.
Huddersfield Town’s next match will see them meet with Watford on Saturday, May 3, 2014.
