Lauren Rudick To Present Yoga Workshops
Canadian yoga instructor Lauren Rudick is getting set to host a weekend of yoga workshops in Bermuda from Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8, 2014, focusing on a series of topics in order to better familarize students with the benefits of yoga.
The classes will take place at Bermuda’s Yoga with Tali studio.
Dubbed ‘Head to Toe: A Weekend of Yoga Workshops,’ the series will see one class run on Friday, June 6 from 6.00pm through 9.00pm, another on Saturday, June 7 from 11.00am through 1.00pm, and the third on Sunday, June 8 from 1.00pm through 3.00pm.
A spokesperson said, “Friday is a ladies only event called ‘Yoga for Better Sex.’ This segment includes discussion about yoga and sex and how those two topics interplay in the Western world and also how the roles of yoga and sex interplay today.
“The asana will include a strong standing series to build confidence and will finish with restorative hip openers to release any excess baggage and negative emotions. The aim is to find comfort and solace within. This workshop is geared at getting you feeling strong, graceful and sexy from the inside out.
“Saturday morning’s session with focus on #Handstand365, a class named after the Instagram challenge, now in its second year. Join Lauren Rudick for this fun and playful approach to your yoga practice. Lauren will teach tips, tricks, and techniques to achieve safety and fun with your handstands. This class is open to anyone who wants to learn handstands and can feel comfortable in downward dog for 30 seconds or more.”
“Saturday’s session will continue with ‘Fright or Flight and Find Your Inner Entomologist.’ This segment is all about arm balances and the poses that leave you bug eyed, including scorpion, grasshopper, and firefly.
“Face your fears, learn proper alignment, then fly. Let yourself go in this workshop that is guaranteed to get the core working and the adrenaline pumping. Lauren will show you ways to stretch, strengthen and prepare your body for these advanced arm balances. Get over your fear of creepy crawlers and empower yourself with these asanas.
“Sunday’s session will be titled ‘Monkeying Around in Hanumanasana.’ Join Lauren in this fun adventure into the splits. Learn about the story of Hanuman as you discover how to safely build flexibility for the splits. Play with different splits variations. Let the splits become an accessible and regular part of your yoga practice.
“Ms. Rudick hails from Montreal, Canada but her love of yoga has taken her around the world. She has studied, taught and practiced yoga across four continents and over a dozen countries. She is a certified E-RYT instructor with certifications in alignment-based Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Ashtanga, and Restorative Yoga. Lauren’s dynamic and upbeat classes are infused with humor, positivity, and joy, helping her students to build confidence both on and off the mat.
