Convicted Rapist Jailed For 16 Years In UK

image 2Andrew Williams, who is originally from Bermuda, was jailed for 16 years after being convicted of rape and causing grievous bodily harm in the UK, according to the Hackney Gazette.

The 29 year old was ordered to serve two-thirds of his sentence in custody and will serve an extended license period of five years following his release.

The Hackney Gazette reports that Williams lured the woman to his mother’s home in Upper Clapton and trapped her in his bedroom for 3 days, where he hacked off her hair with scissors and repeatedly beat her with a chair leg.

“He cut her clothes from her body, chopped them into small pieces and beat her around the face with her own belt buckle while his mother and sister were in adjoining rooms,” the report said.

“When he finally allowed her to go on 2 February, she had been so severely beaten that her own sister didn’t recognise her.”

Williams, who has previous convictions for assaulting a police officer and possession of drugs, repeatedly interrupted the Court hearing, yelling ‘you’re just trying to make me look bad’ and shouting ‘I’ll beat it on appeal’.

A statement from the UK Metropolitan Police said, “Williams is subject to a Sexual Prevention Order and has also been placed on the Sex Offender Register for life. He had been found guilty of two offences at an earlier hearing on Friday, 1 August at the same court.

“The victim, a 42-year-old woman was in a relationship with Williams for about a month when he became violent towards her.

“Between 31 January and 2 February 2014 Williams subjected the victim to repeated and sustained violent assaults, ripping and cutting her clothes. Through fear, the victim had sex with Williams, afraid of what would happen if she didn’t.

“The victim was eventually able to escape and call police. Williams was subsequently arrested on Sunday, 2 February in Stoke Newington.”

Detective Constable Kevin Christou, from Hackney’s Community Safety Unit and investigating officer, said: “Andrew Williams is a dangerous individual and the sentence reflects the seriousness of his offending.

“Officers from Hackney Community Safety Unit continue to support the victim and I am hopeful the sentencing of Williams will allow some closure and help her to move forward to rebuild her life.

“The length of the sentence demonstrates that police and the courts take domestic abuse seriously; victims of abuse will be given all possible support by the MPS.”

  7. swing voter says:

he’ll be paroled and sent back here….I wonder if we’ll know the date of his return ;-(

    • Raw Onion says:

If he is considered a UK citizen then he cant be deported. However, if he returns to Bermuda then his conviction will not be on his record here and since there is no sex offender’s registry here, he will be regular citizen.

  8. SMH says:

  9. bozey says:

  12. Not All The Facts says:

This is a very sad story. People will automatically comment because they believe that they have heard the facts and the individual is guilty. BUT, Let me say that you have not heard all of the facts and you do not know the age of the mother and sister. so before you go flying off like you know everything YOU DO NOT and only God can judge. She admitted that she was in a relationship with him. They have not revealed all of the circumstances in this case. So stop Judging cause you do not know. Young man use this time to change your LIFE!!!! You are better than this!!!!!!!!

    • PBanks says:

I don’t think anybody is assuming they know everything; but once the guy has been found guilty of rape and GBH, it stands to reason that observers will have judgements on the person’s character.

  13. Wow says:
