[Updated] Police responded to reports of gunshots in St George’s in the early hours of this morning [Dec 12], however said that “no forensic evidence was found to substantiate the reports.”
A police spokesperson said, “Around 12:45am on Friday, December 12th police officers responded to reports of gunshots in the Barrack Hill, St. George’s area. A search of the vicinity was conducted; however no forensic evidence was found to substantiate the reports.
“Inquiries regarding this incident are ongoing and anyone with any information should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”
This follows after seven other confirmed firearm incidents in the past few weeks; two shootings on Dec. 9th [link] the murder of Prince Edness on Dec 7th [link], a shooting on Dec 3rd in Warwick [link], a shooting in Pembroke on Nov 13th [link], a shooting in Sandys in Nov 11th which saw four men injured [link], and another shooting on that same day in Devonshire [link].
Update Dec 15: This report was later attributed to a 51-year-old man setting off fireworks.
Thank goodness it hadn’t been confirmed. I believe it’s time to change our Laws which pertain to weapons / firearms. “We spare the rod we spoil the child.”
NOT again.
Apparently not.
Never know. Revolvers don’t eject their empty casings leaving no real “forensic evidence”.
bird scarer devices covering crops can sound like gunshots too.
Need stricter rules for these crimes!!! No breaks or leniency! Court system needs to say what it means and mean what it says! These guys don’t care cause they knowthey gonna get off on a slap on wrist
Irony is they have .38 and .22′s.
They don’t leave spent casings.
Soo many guns out there, they should make you have to get a gun license 2015
Could have been a .38 or .22.
They don’t leave behind ‘forensic evidence.’
Could have been a .357, .40, .45 anything Terry, obviously you think more than you really know.. but all guns will leave forensic evidence OTHER than a revolver of any caliber.
NOT in St George’s!!! Never .. just get outta our town!
I would have heard those gun shots!
Sigh
Unconfirmed only means then didn’t find the casings. Not that didn’t happen
Apparently its not gun shots in st.geo,, its some crazy boy settin off fireworks…. SMH
When all drugs are legalized then the shooting will stop and our young people will stop being murdered and stop murdering. Our young people are being put up to be murdered or murder by bigger drug dealers over money and power.
These drug dealers are being respected in our community by citizens whom are afraid if them.
If the drug dealer doesn’t have to look over his shoulder or be threatened with jail he will not mind paying a few taxes.
This is my opinion without prejudice.

And again last night, two shots fired. Having years of experance with hand guns and rifles, this sounded different. Like the powder could have been damp or the nozzle was muffled as so no one could see the flash. One thing is for sure, this was the second night in a row. This must be a massage to someone who might be hiding out in St. Goe.
It looks to me as if these shots fired are an attempt to gain media attention so that other rival gangs
can see that there armed ready and not to be messed with — i’m just trying to understand the gang member
mentality.- this Gunshot thing seems to be Island wide – if you look at past incidents of random Gun shot incidents.
Looks like this “madness” is now NEVER going to stop!! Too many scores-to-settle from one gang to another!! Maybe they will run-out of gang members sooner than later – and that will help alleviate the problem!!
