Cricket: Southampton Rangers Win BELCO Cup
Southampton Rangers are the 2015 BELCO Cricket Cup Champions following play this weekend at Lord’s in St. David’s.
Southampton Rangers won the toss and sent St. David’s Cricket Club to bat. St. David’s Cricket Club were bowled all out for 137 in 38.2 overs, Justin Pitcher was the top scorer with 33 runs, while Delyone Borden added 30, the only other batsman in double figures was McLaren Lowe with 12. Derick Brangman was the pick of the Southampton Rangers bowlers with figures of 8.2-3-21-3, while Dion Stovell bowled 8-1-27-3.
In reply Southampton Rangers scored 139/7 in 44.2 overs, for the second weekend in a row teenager Alex Dore guided them to a trophy with a knock of 64 not out, while Ian Armstrong added 15 and Janeiro Tucker scored 13. George O’Brien Jr. was the pick of the St. David’s Cricket Club bowlers with figures of 9.2-3-26-3.
