Laurie McSherry-Gray To Perform In Bermuda
Bermuda Civic Ballet announced that Laurie McSherry-Gray, of the Royal Ballet of Flanders, Belgium, is joining Summer Selections 2015, August 6 & 7.
“Laurie trained at The Royal Ballet School in London and then joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet, after which he spent some time with Angel Corella’s company, Corella Ballet, in Spain, where his repertoire included both traditional ballets and modern classics,” a spokesperson said.
“It was here that he made the acquaintance of Bermudian dancer James Waddell, and they were delighted to discover that both of them would be joining the Royal Ballet of Flanders.
“At RBF Laurie was promoted to Half Soloist soon after arriving. Most recently he danced the demanding role of Lensky in John Cranko’s classic ballet ONEGIN.
“In Bermuda, Laurie will be performing two classical pieces, probably from Don Quixote and La Bayadere. Civic is delighted to add Laurie to the list of visiting artistes. Bermudian Malachi Simmons has already confirmed that he will be participating.”
