Minister Receives School Reorganization Report

The Minister of Education Wayne Scott, has received the final report of the SCORE Advisory Committee on school reorganization, and said he will begin sharing the report’s findings with all stakeholders.

“The report was commissioned to examine the issues of school consolidation or closure, improving the quality and consistency of primary school programming and opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings.

“In keeping with his commitment to transparency, the Minister will begin sharing the report’s findings with all stakeholders. Presentations by the SCORE Advisory Committee have begun and include school principals, teachers, parent-teacher associations and unions.

“Once stakeholder consultations are completed, the Minister will release the report to the public to continue the consultation process.”

“I want to move this report forward in the most open and responsible manner possible,” Minister Scott said.

“As we said in November’s Throne Speech, the intent is to have this challenging issue proceed in a collaborative and inclusive manner, engaging parents, educators and the wider community in a review of school programmes, building use and stakeholder needs.”
