Police Confirm Death Of Randy Santelices
[Updated] The police have confirmed the death of 31-year-old guest worker Randy Santelices who died after he was involved in a single vehicle road accident early yesterday morning.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 31 year old guest worker, Randy Santelices of Timber Lane, Pembroke who died after he was involved in a single vehicle road accident on Thursday February 25th at 1:22am.
“The accident took place at the junction of Front Street and Queen Streets where it appears that Randy lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the Birdcage.
“Mr. Santelices was taken to the hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead the same day at 6:12pm.
“A full investigation is underway and a Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to the family and friends to assist with this difficult process.
“The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the Randy Santelices.
“This marks the 1st road traffic fatality for 2016 and anyone with any information on this accident or any information on the movements of Randy before his untimely death should contact Police on 2950011.”
Update: According to the Association of Filipinos in Bermuda, Mr Santelices was a Filipino national who worked at MEF.
A post on social media by the AFB said, “The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away. Rest in peace, Randy Santelices. We are sorry to inform everyone that Randy Santelices died today from his injuries. His family has already been informed, and we ask for your prayers for strength for his bereaved ones.”
