Photos: Queen’s Birthday Service At St Peter’s
A special service of thanksgiving to celebrate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was held on Sunday [June 12] at St Peter’s, Their Majesties Chappell in St George’s.
The Governor George Fergusson and Mrs Fergusson were in attendance, and lessons were read by the Governor, Premier Michael Dunkley and the Mayor of St George’s Quinell Francis.
The Bishop of Bermuda, the Rt Rev. Nicholas Dill preached the sermon and the service was conducted by the Incumbent, the Rev’d Canon W. David Raths.
The children’s choir,Their Majesties Choristers, sang two songs under the direction of the Acting Choirmaster, Rajai Denbrook, who himself sang a solo at the end of the service.
Afterwards, everyone gathered on the church steps and they recorded a video recorded singing “happy birthday” to the Queen, which will be sent to the Queen along with the big birthday card signed by everyone in attendance. A reception followed in the Edith Clair Spencer Hall.
